Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that is often associated with exposure to asbestos,often in the work environment. This disease is often associated with blue-collar workers,but there were some very notable dead of disease during the past 50 years.
Mesothelioma is a cancer of the mesothelium,which is where it gets its name. Mesothelium lining the abdomen is and rib cage. It acts as protection for the organs like heart and lungs,while offering surface friction control that operators can move against each other without damage.
Number of people who lost their lives to mesothelioma are many,but not many of them are famous. This disease is associated with exposure to asbestos. That tends to occur in industrial areas such as power plants,oil refineries,paper mills,factories and shipyards. Although laudable,most people who work in these professions do not move to fame and fortune. However,some names are extremely important.
Steve McQueen was considered a human right. Actor and racing enthusiast,He was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 1979. His doctors think the disease was so far away that they can not be processed. McQueen refused to accept it,and moved to Mexico to undergo experimental treatment. While there,he died on August 11,1970 Cardiac crisis after one of the surgical treatment of cancer.
Musician Warren Zevon was diagnosed with inoperable mesothelioma in 2002. He spent the last year of his life,recording his the last album. Titled "The Wind"is a haunting interpretation of his position and experience. He died in Los Angeles September 7,2003.
