Mesothelioma is highly resistant to medical treatment, and experts estimate that Mesothelioma Epidemic could be in the coming years. Clinical trials (research studies with people),are designed to find new ways treatments and better ways to use existing treatments, which increases the chance for the victims of this devastating disease. These are three important ongoing clinical trials for treatment of mesothelioma.

1-Phase III Vorinostat (SAHA) in clinical trials for the Advancement of relapse in patients with Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma. This essay explores the use of vorinostat drug chemotherapy to kill cancer cells and stop their division,he also believes that the drug may inhibit enzymes that are needed for cancer cells the growth and multiplication. These studies are currently in Phase III to understand its effects on Epithelial Mesothelioma, sarcomatous, and repetitive. Phase III of Vorinostat (SAHA) for trials on malignant pleural mesothelioma progressive or relapsed patients are currently Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCLA and the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center –Clinical studies in support of the NCI,Bethesda,Maryland.

2-Phase II clinical study of AZD2171 in patients with unresectable Malignant Mesothelioma Phase II AZD2171 in patients with unresectable malignant mesothelioma investigation use of chemotherapy drugs that inhibit enzymes that slow growth and blocking the blood supply to the tumor cells. Tumor cells depends on the formation of new blood vessels to provide blood to supply the nutrients needed for growth,New drugs are under study, which will hinder the development of new blood vessels. This study hopes to achieve the development of drugs that used to treat epithelial, sarcomatous, advanced and recurrent malignant mesothelioma. These clinical studies underway in Arizona,Georgia,Illinois,Indiana,Iowa,Kansas,Massachusetts,Michigan,Missouri,Montana,North Carolina,Ohio,South Carolina,Tennessee,Virginia,Washington and Wyoming.

3-Phase II clinical study on the use of pemetrexed disodium with gemcitabine or carboplatin in patients with advanced malignant mesothelioma. Phase II clinical trial of pemetrexed disodium with the use of gemcitabine or carboplatin in patients with advanced malignant Mesothelioma Clinic is a study on the effects of chemotherapy drugs pemetrexed disodium, gemcitabine and carboplatin in advanced and recurrent malignant mesothelioma. This study is in Phase II and takes place at several locations across the country, including Delaware,Florida,Illinois,Indiana,Iowa,Maryland,Michigan,New Jersey,New York,Ohio,Pennsylvania,South Dakota and Wisconsin.
